Howdy folks! We hope you're having a blessed morning. 🙏
We want to share yesterday's service with you on our YouTube page. 😊
This is a special week, often referred to as the Holy Week — we mourn for our Savior on his death day, Good Friday, and rejoice in his victory over death and return from the grave on Easter Sunday. Before those dates though, came the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ — Palm Sunday, yesterday. Pastor Fred compiled a special sermon for the day, simply titled Palm Sunday. This is a one-off sermon, as he will also have a special sermon next week for Easter Sunday. On top of that, we also sang hymns "Holy, Holy, Holy", "At the Cross", and "Blessed Redeemer", which are all taken from the 1991 edition of the Baptist Hymnal.
Our 131st Homecoming celebration is in two weeks! Everyone is invited to join us for a potluck dinner, jovial fellowship with friends, as well as a very special Easter Egg Hunt! Come celebrate 131 years of Bethel on April 27th, and take part in the jubilant festivities. The scripture for this week is:
The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it. You will live in joy and peace. The mountains and hills will burst into song, and the trees of the field will clap their hands! Where once there were thorns, cypress trees will grow. Where nettles grew, myrtles will sprout up. These events will bring great honor to the Lord’s name; they will be an everlasting sign of his power and love. (Isaiah 55:10-13 NLT)
